Microsoft Power BI custom visual

Turn warehouse data into an interactive 3D heatmap.

Map inventory, activity, capacity, and operational exceptions to physical warehouse locations directly inside Microsoft Power BI.

Why it exists

Your warehouse metrics already tell a story. This visual shows where that story is happening.

Connect a Power BI measure to physical bin coordinates and explore patterns across aisles, levels, zones, and neighboring locations. Search for a location, isolate operational categories, switch between 3D and 2D views, and let report filters update the layout in context.

3D

Coordinate-based warehouse rendering from X, Y, and Z fields.

2D

Flat bird's-eye plan view when operational overview matters most.

3

Custom category filters for aisle, bay, level, zone, process, or your own model.

Feature Highlights

Explore large warehouse layouts without leaving Power BI.

Flexible heat mapping

Color locations with any numeric Power BI measure, including inventory, picks, utilization, dwell time, shortages, cost, or exceptions.

Search and focus

Find a Location ID without manually navigating a large warehouse model and focus the camera on that location.

Saved viewpoints

Store reusable camera presets for important areas such as receiving, reserve storage, forward pick, or shipping.

Power BI integration

Use report filters, Power BI selection behavior, Location ID filtering, tooltips, and the standard context menu.

Floor plan context

Display a configurable floor plane or align a floor-plan image beneath warehouse locations.

Performance controls

Use instanced rendering, progressive rendering, geometry caching, and presets for larger layouts.

Focused Analysis

Dim or hide non-matching locations to keep physical context under control.

Warehouse 3D showing selected warehouse locations while non-matching locations are dimmed
Dim mode Preserve the physical warehouse context while emphasizing the selected aisle, bay, level, or category.
Warehouse 3D showing selected warehouse locations while non-matching locations are hidden
Hide mode Remove non-matching locations when a focused operational view is more useful.
How It Works

Bring your warehouse coordinate table to Power BI.

1. Provide one row per location

Use stable Location IDs and numeric X, Y, and Z coordinates for each bin or physical location.

2. Add the measure to analyze

Map inventory, picks, utilization, aging, capacity, quality holds, or another operational metric.

3. Explore in report context

Use slicers, filters, search, category controls, and saved camera views to investigate patterns.

Availability

Preparing for Microsoft AppSource.

Unclocked Warehouse 3D is nearing publication. The free experience is designed for focused layouts and evaluation up to 2,500 rendered bins, while the Professional plan removes that free-tier restriction for larger operational deployments.

Already have an AutoCAD warehouse drawing but no coordinate table? Unclocked Studios can help convert an existing bin layout into Power BI-ready mapping data, including coordinates, dimensions, and facility bounds.
